MOIS MULTI 2008IN _ EX, the ninth edition of the Mois Multi festival is truly different as it will be held, exceptionally, in two parts. A first rendezvous of discoveries will take place, as usual, during the frosty month of February. Then, during the more gentle temperatures of September, we extend a very special invitation against the backdrop of our city’s 400th anniversary celebrations, showcasing stunning outdoor works that will blend into the urban fabric of St-Roch. The MM9 will offer a selection of artistic works each sharing the undeniable quality of stemming from those which explore art in the way it is created through the artist and by the style in which it is offered to the audience. From February 13 to 24, 2008 In this first part in February, we offer you a series of powerful works that question our relationship with time and speed. A selection nourished from the work of artists originating from Wales, Austria, France, Spain, Canada, and Quebec. For a second consecutive year, our valuable partner Avatar presents a conference entitled “Super Speed and Wiki Memory,” bringing together participants from here and around the world. EXpire. From September 11 to 20, 2008 In September, during Quebec City’s 400th anniversary celebrations, we aim to stir encounters between the public and this new, inventive and provocative art. For many of the programmed events, we will step outside and fill the public space by introducing projects from local and international artists who impressed us and alter our way of seeing the world that we live in. An encounter that promises to bring its share of surprises! A detailed schedule will be unveiled in the spring of 2008… Stay tuned! Art is at the same time intimate and external, inner and eccentric.
